Run:

gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

find this block:

## This software is not part of Ubuntu, but is offered by third-party
## developers who want to ship their latest software.
deb http://extras.ubuntu.com/ubuntu quantal main
deb http://archive.canonical.com/ partner
deb-src http://archive.canonical.com/ partner
deb-src http://extras.ubuntu.com/ubuntu quantal main

Chnage it to:

## This software is not part of Ubuntu, but is offered by third-party
## developers who want to ship their latest software.
deb http://extras.ubuntu.com/ubuntu quantal main
deb http://archive.canonical.com/ quantal partner
deb-src http://archive.canonical.com/ quantal partner
deb-src http://extras.ubuntu.com/ubuntu quantal main

Save the new file, close gedit and run:

sudo apt-get update

Did you look at your own file first? Did you not notice the pattern?

Hi ,

open again the sources.list with this command

~$ gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

and remove these 2 lines

deb http://archive.canonical.com/ partner
deb-src http://archive.canonical.com/ partner

If you want to use the Ubuntu partners repository go little up(same file , sources.list) and uncomment (remove this symbol #) from these 2 lines

# deb http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu quantal partner
# deb-src http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu quantal partner

save the document and run

~$ sudo apt-get update

and you will be fine.

Thank you.

Hi Actionparsnip & NikTh,

Thanks mate for your guys help. It does resolved the problem. Hope it will help the rest of people here who are new to 12.10.

This version 12.10 also had resolved my previous problem on WiFi adapter which not runs properly on version 12.04 LTS.

Cheers
