there is a problem when I press the "check" button at update manager.

W:Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/kamalmostafa/linux-kamal-mjgbacklight/ubuntu/dists/precise/main/binary-i386/Packages 404 Not Found, E:Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

I saw this message when I press the "check" button after update, before upgrade.
I tried to upgrade my ubuntu at terminal. but there is same problem. I cannot solve it.
I'm not expert. I need person to solve this problem.

The problem is most probably caused by wrong entries in your sources.list (the configuration file that specifies where the packages for installing and updates are downloaded).

Please open a terminal (ctrl-alt-t) and enter the following command (You have to make sure that you enter this a s a one line command!):

find /etc/apt -name '*.list' -exec bash -c 'echo -e "\n$1\n"; cat -n "$1"' _ '{}' \;

Then select all output (edit - select all), copy it (edit - copy) and paste it into a new response of this question thread.
