update-manager line not know into source list
trying to update I got this errormessage: ------->
An unresolvable problem occurred while initialising the package information.
Please report this bug for the 'update-manager' package and try to include the following error message:
'E:Type ‘b-src’ is not known on line 2 in source list /etc/apt/
OS: ubuntu 12.04, AMD Phenom II (64 bit), 3.4 GB Ram, kernel 3.2.0-24, gnome 3.4.1
update impossible
imposible to install openshot (gui and PPA)

You have an error in your source list.
Issue the command: gksudo gedit /etc/apt/
Look at line 2. It says b-src
Change it to deb-src.
Save. Close gedit.
Try again.
Unless you are a computer whizz you do not need source code - any line that begins deb-src. You can make them inactive by putting at the start of each relevant line: #

after changing all "deb-scr" to "## deb-scr" and reboot I still get --->

actually the 3 questions are related at least to 2 different machines an AMD 2 core and an amd 4 core .... if not my third wich is a 6 core
actually I am on the 4 core machine, and I cannot access the 2 core for the moment I will try later the same

did not try the suggestion as the erroroutput was the result of the proposed comand.
I also tried to update. I got 2 updates which I agreed.
tyhis run me into the following error message: --->

here update works, but I have problems to install openshot and you said is the same problem I expose now here:

sorry I had'nt read your response.... we are now cruzing 2 problems and answers/information of 2 mashines the 4 core and the 6 core mashine ...
both and the 2 core present as you already remarked verry similar problems around updating and installing (openshot)

Will download my default sources.list file and copy it to where it should go.
