Error with Gnome shell on Ubuntu 11.10

When I trying to install Gnome shell:
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
E: Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.
E: Unable to correct dependencies

Please help me fix it

Open a Terminal, type the following command and press Enter:
sudo apt-get -f install
It will prompt for your password, type it and press Enter, then confirm the proposed actions by typing "Y" and pressing Enter.
