Hi, read this for upgrade to 11.04:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/NattyUpgrades

and this to upgrade to 11.10:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/OneiricUpgrades

I suggest you to download the iso of Ubuntu 11.10 and install it directly.

Enrico Thanks but my problem is when I open the update manager the is no link at the top of the window to upgrade to the next version! There always used to be one!
 I have used it in the past to upgrade earlier versions.

Run:
sudo apt-get install update-manager-core
gksudo gedit /etc/update-manager/release-upgrades

Change:
Prompt=lts
To:
Prompt=normal

If required. Save the new file, close gedit then run:
sudo do-release-upgrade

In update-manager window, you can uncheck "Update to LTS only"?

Can you help with this problem?
