Completely update Oneiric.
Then disable third party repos, e.g. ppa and in case
# deb http://extras.ubuntu.com/ubuntu oneiric main
# deb-src http://extras.ubuntu.com/ubuntu oneiric main

Change release name:
sudo sed -i 's/oneiric/precise/g' /etc/apt/sources.list

and have fun:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

If all runs well:
:~$ lsb_release -a
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu precise (development branch)
Release: 12.04
Codename: precise

I didn't upgrade to devel release via GUI. Feel free to test it.

If you'd like to keep Oneiric install Precise on another partition.
If you'd like to keep the partition but not Oneiric install Precise same way as you've installed Oneiric.
