Replace 8.4 with 11.10

I downloaded the 11.10 unto Dell laptop, confused on how to execute the change. not CD capable, must I =get usb stick to do? I hve 11.10 on the laptop, thought it wud be easy to do a replace. Pklease clarify how to do. Thanks

You can download an .iso file that can be burned on a CD here:
32bit:
http://releases.ubuntu.com/natty/ubuntu-11.04-desktop-i386.iso

64bit:
http://releases.ubuntu.com/natty/ubuntu-11.04-desktop-amd64.iso

Remember to check the MD5:
http://releases.ubuntu.com/natty/MD5SUMS

You will need a USB stick or CD to install. Or you can upgrade to Lucid in one jump, then you can upgrade to Maverick, then to Natty, then to Oneiric. This takes a long time and may result in an unstable OS. The clean install will be much faster and give a cleaner OS
