impossibile aprire update manager - segnale di errore nella barra di stato superiore (accanto al simbolo del collegamento internet)

quando si apre update manager compare il seguente messaggio:
Could not initialize the package information

An unresolvable problem occurred while initializing the package information.

Please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the following error message:

'E:Encountered a section with no Package: header, E:Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/it.archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_natty_main_binary-i386_Packages, E:L'elenco dei pacchetti o il file di stato non può essere letto o aperto.'

Ciao, fai così:
1. Apri un terminale premendo CTRL + ALT + T
2. Inserisci ed esegui questi comandi nel terminale:
sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/* -vf
sudo apt-get update

3. Prova a fare gli aggiornamenti

Il problema sembra risolto. Il simbolo dell'errore sulla barra di stato è sparito e ho fatto partire update manager. Complimenti! Grazie - Gaetano
