Hi, do this:
1. Open a terminal by hitting CTRL + ALT + T
2. Insert and run this command:
cat /etc/apt/
3. Copy and paste here the result.
You have to remove the PPA for firefox because is not for oneiric.

Firefox is provided by Ubuntu team few days after official release. Why do you need to access directly to Firefox repository ?

@sathiajith (vjsjith): I see anything wrong in this file (but I'm not expert in apt). Could you provide latest error messages.
@Jo: could you open a new question, linked to "apt" packet. For what I know, it means only there are up to date. In new question, could you provide version number of your LibreOffice software (menu About).

the latest version of libreoffice is 3.4.3
if this is the version you had when you were using 10.10 or 11.04, it will not update.
do as delance suggested. open libreoffice, then click on the menu Help>About. you will see the version there.

libreoffice 3.4.4 isn't officially out yet. are you downloading the beta?
error 404 indicates that the website isn't available, meaning that it is most likely down for some reason.

So, the root issue is that the "new Firefox" is already included in the newest Ubuntu - so, you do not need to do anything on https:/
So, if you had ANY Firefox repos while you were lagging behind in Ubuntu version, you no longer need those once you are current.
Remove everything from Software Sources that has to do with Firefox - whether it is disabled or not, delete it.
Then, Firefox will be updated via Ubuntu's standard repos and everything will be fine.
Again, if you are on the current version of Ubuntu, you DO NOT need any special Firefox repos. Firefox repos are only for users running non-current versions of Ubuntu. I.E.: Once "P" comes out, if you do not upgrade to it but want to be current with Firefox, they you will need the Firefox repos back for "O" (once a community member creates it - as you experienced, there are no "O" repos now b/c it is already in Ubuntu's repo).
Current version of Ubuntu always has current version of Firefox - remove those repos and let Ubuntu handle it!
