Asked by clombard

Can an option be added to the upgrade manager to go back to a previous (and likely working) Ubuntu distribution...?
thanks

For now such option is not available.I don´t know if it can be add,but now only option to downgrade is to reinstall previous (version of your choice witch still get updates) version off Ubuntu.

To get the older release you will need to reinstall.

A reinstall means saving nothing and starting new. Not desirable at this time.
Thank you.

Why can't you save settings and files? Nothing at all.....

Yes I could save the 85 or so gigs of files and settings but have no desire to do so.
With an upgrade all settings and files are carried to the new distribution.
Unless I am mistaken the clean install is a laborious task.
thanks

You are simply clean installing the OS. You will then upgrade the packages then restore settings. Not that long really
