upgrade to new 11.10 distribution version fails

Open a terminal and type:

sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update

sudo do-release-upgrade -d

Running apt-get dist-upgrade showed a conflict between dolphin and konqueror I had to remove them both then the upgrade worked ok (with the exception that I had to remove the /run directory manually as noted in other bug messages on the internet).

Disable 3rd party repos in software centre including the partner repo.
