Wrong upgrade from Ubuntu 10.4 to 11.4 (Unity Unsupported)

Asked by George Kavvadas

Yesterday I upgraded Ubuntu from 10.4 to 11.4. All the files downloaded fine but when my computer restarted I got a menu saying I don't have the right hardware to run Unity and recommended i switch to Ubuntu Classic at my start up page. I clicked ok and nothing has been working right since then. The desktop is all messed up if I try to click on any anything it either doesn't do anything or the screen where I click blackens or a menu might come up but I can only see it when I move my cursor over it for less than a second. Anyone know of any fixes or a way to get my 10.4 version back without doing a install from scratch?

Source of your problem is upgrading from 10.04 to 110.04,because you can not skip versions (in your case you will be able to direct upgrade from 10.04 to 12.04 because both are LTS).Only way t orevert to previous version is to install 10.04 again.Sorry for that.

Can you help with this problem?
