Upgrade from Ubuntu 10.04 to 11.04

I am upgrading from Ubuntu 10.04 to 11.04. The install is nearly finished but the system seems to have stalled say it is "Restoring previously installed packages". Been like that now for nearly and hour. Anybody know how to fix this or should I restart the installation.

Did you upgrade to Maverick in between?

No I didnt. In the meantime the install completed but there were issues with my duel monitors not working so I decided to do a clean install instead of an upgrade. Unfortunately I am still having the same issue with my monitors. I am also get an error message at boot saying "It seems you do not have the hardware required to run Unity...." and goes on to tell me what to do about it.

But as for the original question, it would appear that if I leave it long enough it will complete the install.
