upgrade from ubuntu 10.10 to kubuntu 11.04 unstable

I would like to switch to using KDE desktop instead of Gnome or Unity. Is it better/safer to instal Kubuntu-Desktop before or after the version upgrade?

kde has the same issues!

Opinion.
I'd backup my data and install KDE from scratch to avoid huge data mixture and start with a clean architecture.

I had the same problem kubuntu 10.10 to kubuntu 11.04 horribly unstable. Had to wipe system clean and re-install kubuntu 10.10 . It knocked out my sound card. I'm going to wait until the end of June to upgrade.
