After failed dist-update, update-manager does not present dist-upgrade option

Asked by Andrew Bolster

Summary more or less says it all; after a connectivity issue stymied a devel-upgrade to natty, update-manager isn't giving me a gui option to upgrade (even with invocation of -dcp) and when invoked with --dist-upgrade -d, says my system is up to date.

Any ideas?

Please provide the output of

uname -a
usb_release -a

If that shows "natty" then the upgrade to the new distribution went far enough that you are on the new release.
You should also look in /etc/apt/sources.list and check if the lines contain 'maverick' or 'natty' (they should contain natty after the upgrade).

Can you help with this problem?
