update manager says: installation from untrusted sources
I use ubuntu 10.10
System update manager lists the following packages as 'untrusted'. It refuses to download and update anything.
libnm-glib2 libnm-util1 libpoppler-glib5 libpoppler7 libsyncdaemon-1.0-1 linux-generic linux-headers-
What should I do?

I just tried running the update manager. The 'untrusted software source' did not come up. I am in fact now downloading the updates. I do not why it worked now. I just ran those commands to provide output asked.
Thanks for your help.

Sometimes servers aren't updated synced, in this case just switch to main server.

Ok all seems well, when do you get the untrusted output? Usually you get this sort of output:
W: GPG error: http://
W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems
Something like that, do you still see the error?

I do not get the error after I executed your first set of commands.
I used get a dialog box in update manager saying something to effect that the software is from untrusted source and there used to be a -sign in red ( i think this means 'prohibited' ) and there would be only one button 'close' in the box. On clicking close the update manager would simply revert to original state of displaying security and suggested update packages.
I can not reproduce this now, therefore the words may not be exact.

Is the situation still the same now?

I do not have the chance to check this now since I have now updated packages as I mentioned in one of my previous update.
Thanks for your help.
