Unable to upgrade after install update-manager.

Asked by ntwari freddy

Could not calculate the upgrade

An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade:
E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.

 This can be caused by:
 * Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
 * Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
 * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu

If none of this applies, then please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/ in the bug report.

What did you want to do? Upgrade from 10.04 to 10.10 or something else?

There are reports that that upgrade fails in some cases if the package xserver-xorg-video-nouveau is installed. You might check if you have that package installed, and if it is installed remove it (will also remove xserver-xorg-video-all) and then try to restart the upgrade.

If that is not the case and/or does not help please send us the full terminal output from the following procedure:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/PackageManagerTroubleshootingProcedure

Can you help with this problem?
