update-manager package

Update Manager doesn't install updates

Asked by Gilbert Tan TS

Update Manager is able to download updates but not install them, keeps asking me to authenticate password to make changes to the OS. I am running ubuntu 10.10 patch with the latest version 2.30.3-1 ubuntu 7.2
Any help would be appreciated.

Can you give the output of:

sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get -y upgrade
