This error usually occurs when there is more than one package manager open. The lock that the error is complaining about is there to protect you from possible inconsistencies from using two package managers at the same time.

The error occurs, for example, when you have Update manager running AND Synaptic.
Only one of these may be running at any one time.

for your information, I will try to understand better why and how this
problem appears.

Hello Filip,

If you mark this question as "solved" it will make clear to others that they need not answer or help you with this particular question.
Marking the question as "solved" helps all of us to "forget it", as you put it.

Should the issue occur again, you can then reopen this question or create a new question.
