Every time I try and update keeps asking for disk with Ubuntu 10.10 i386

I have ubuntu 10.10 i386 but can not adjust light or dark
Every time I try and update keeps asking for disk with Ubuntu 10.10 i386
I put that in and it still doesn't accept it and it also complains of Internet problem and it is OK Is there a fix for these on going problems
or can I go back to 10.04 Ubuntu or install a system that will work I do not like windows

 In Ubuntu software center>edit>repositories> uncheck Cd as repšository and referesh.After that you will get updates without asking for CD.

I unchecked CD as a repository that solved part of the problem as far as getting
updates thanks for that help now if some one can tell how to fix light adjustment
