How to upgrade release from Ubuntu 10.04 to Ubuntu 10.10

I'm fairly new to Ubuntu and have a very basic question: I'm still in Ubuntu 10.04; used the update manager many times but it din't update to 10.10. How can I update to 10.10?

Go in Preferences of Update-Manager, and uncheck "Updating to next LTS (Long Term Support)", else you will have to wait 12.04!
After, you should see at top of Update-Manager window a new button to upgrade to 10.10.
You should before do a backup of "/home" folder.
