Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#When%20not%20to%20file%20a%20bug.

Open your sources list

In a Terminal issue the command: gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

It will ask for the sudo password. It will open the sources list in gedit.

Look at the sources list. Do you see any duplicates? If you do, you can make any line ineffective by putting at the beginning: #

When you have finished do:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
If this gives any error messages please let us know them.

Try update manager again.

If you have any problems please Copy and Paste all of you sources list here.

You have added the ubuntu tweak ppa but there are duplicate packages from the partner repo, so I suggest you remove it.

ok then you ALSO have a duplicate of the partner repo, you need to remove one of those too. You still have the Ubuntu tweak dupliate too, this needs cleaning up

Can you help with this problem?
