3 years of LTS

Asked by shu afanwi ngandele

I enjoy using Ubuntu 10.x. Desktop Edition. My worry is that after the 3 years of the Long-term Support (LTS), do I need to uninstall the Operating System and request for another CD? What will happen if I allow it on my PC after the LTS period?

You have choice between:
1) keeping indefinitely an old LTS, without any fix provided (including security fix). It's the strategy of some companies for legacy software, which avoid maintenance work.
2) after two years, update via Internet or an Alternate CD to next LTS.

Can you help with this problem?
