Asked by hirev13

when I was downloading the updates last week
this not came up
E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run "dpkg -- configure -a' to correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

I don't know what to do or how to do this.
I usually wait for another update to fix the problem when it happend before.
thanks

If you are an administrator on your system:

Type on "Ctrl+Alt+T" to open a terminal window

Type "sudo dpkg -- configure -a" (without the brackets) into the window you have open and press Enter.

Wait, until you see that a new line with "username@hostname:~$" (with your values), that can take a few minutes depending on the number of packages to configure.

You can close the window and your problem should be solved.

Hope that it helps you.
