ubuntu 10.04 updates fail

I am a new user to ubuntu. I installed ubuntu last week virtually with no problems. I got the updates by using the terminal. When tried to install the downloaded updates, of which most were composed of openoffice updates, it fails due to some security reasons. When I use the system>management> update manager menu it warns me about some security problems may occur and my computer may be exposed to dangers. However, I chose to proceed and met the information of failure below:
"W: http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/o/openoffice.org/openoffice.org-calc_3.2.0-7ubuntu4.1_i386.deb adresinden indirme başarısız (means download from this address has failed in English)
  Unable to connect to security.ubuntu.com:http: [IP: 91.189.92.166 80]

What should I do? Since my help menu does not work (I have reported the problem about yelp) I cannot send a bug report.

Hello,

Go to System/Administration/Update Manager and click on Settings and Ubuntu Software and look at the download from. Select a download source.

I have chosen just the "main server" instead of local; this seems to solve my problem
