Same problem here.
The only dialog I got in the crash is something like
"Cannot install the updates.
The upgrade will abort now. Your system may be unstable. The recovery process will be executed (dpkg --configure -a). (translated by myself, I'm running pt-br)
Please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/ in the bugreport.
installArchives() failed" (this last part was in english, no translation)
