How can upgrade the release 9.04 to 9.10 using Ubuntu live cd

i am using ubuntu 9.04 , pls let me know how to update from 9.04 to 9.10 , i have got a cd of ubuntu 9.10

If you have live CD you can not upgrade with it.You need alternate CD for upgrade.If you don´t have separate home partition make one following http://psychocats.s465.sureserver.com/ubuntu/separatehome .After that you can do fresh install on top of your existing root partition and your setttings and files will be safe on separate home.For upgrading you can read http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/upgrading

You need to download the Ubuntu alternate iso image...
