Ubuntu Netbook Remix - Error creating installer for USB Flash Drive

Asked by Dave

I have downloaded the Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.10, I want to install it to my USB Flash Drive, within the ISO is a USB creator, I have used this to attempt to create the bootable USB key but it always fails at 77% with a check sum error. I have downloaded the iso file twice now from different locations and the same thing happens on 2 different USB drives

Any ideas??

Did you MD5 test the ISO you downloaded?
Did you verify the CD once burned?

Thanks for the links, the MD5 check sum matches, is it an error with by usb flash drive then thats the only reason I can now think of as to why it fails

You should check the ISO BEFORE using it, that way you know you are using a good image, if you use a bad image then experience issues, the issues will no doubt be directly caused by the bad data. Please bear this in mind in future.

You could fsck the device to make sure it is healthy.

You could also try some boot options to make the system more basic to maybe get a successful install but my first call would be to check the destination device is healthy.

Can you help with this problem?
