Netbook Partition too small- issues

Asked by ColinRubes

I just installed Ubuntu Netbook Remix and, of course, the partition is only a fraction of what the computer's hardisk is.

Netbook Remix doesn't have Partition Editor in the system folder, and when i tried to get the aplet "gparted" from:

" sudo apt-get install gparted "

I got the message:

" E: Couldn't find package gparted "

If someone could explain in relatively plain terms (because i'm new at this) what i should do, i'd be very grateful!!

cheers!

cheers Hth!
unfortunately my problem has become that i cannot determine what to do with the gparted application in order to get the file viewer to tell me i have more than 13GP of free space (considering i just bought a 250GB netbook)!

perhaps these are rookie questions but any help would be great!

Go to the System menu, select administration and then choose Gparted

Once opened, select /dev/sda (should be already selected by default) then Gparted will list all the partitions, size and format type as well as used space, and unallocated space (if any) on the hard disk.

Can you help with this problem?
