Dual monitors doesn't work on jaunty UNR

Asked by Sycrat

I am using UNR Jaunty full release on my Acer Aspire One 9" model.
I can not get a dual monitor setup to work in any way, whether it be mirroring or sharing the desktop.
When I try either, the second monitor stays blank, and without signal
The only time that it works, is during bootup, and at the logon screen, where everything is mirrored onto the second display, but as soon as I log in, it disappears, and the monitor goes to sleep.
I was using the Display Preferences pane to set the settings as a normal user.

Have you tried setting it with xrandr? There are 2 GUIs now, arandr and grandr.

Hey mate, thanks for your help, arandr worked.
I'm still not entirely sure why the normal display configuration utility supplied with the OS didn't work as it was supposed to..
Anyway, I'm happy now, I got it to work.
Cheers,
Aaron
