Ubuntu Netbook Remix 10.10: adding an app to the launcher thingy!

Allright... I've been trying to figure this out on my own for about an hour now.

All I wanna do, is add my most favorite/frequently used apps to the friggin launcher on the left of the screen.

On top of that, I would also like to be able to add stuff to my desktop.

But, nothing I've tried works, or I dont understand how to make it work.

SO, I'm running Ubuntu Netbook Remix 10.10.

ON a netbook. I seemed to have less problems with this kind of crap when I was using 11.04 desktop edition...

I think that you can't do this on Ubuntu Netbook Remix. You should use gnome-panel, than you can add applications on the panel.
