Please first connect your network card to the wireless router using an ethernet cable (also known as a LAN cable)

Then please try installing the compat-wireless Linux modules (backported versions) using these 2 commands:

sudo aptitude update

sudo aptitude install linux-backports-modules-wireless-lucid-generic

Then reboot and retest wireless in Ubuntu.

If wireless still does not work after that, then there might be a kernel regression in kernel 2.6.32-23-generic. In that case, you should try an older or newer version of Ubuntu kernel....

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask Stuart Bean for more information if necessary.
