Problems with external monitor with Netbook edition

Hi,

I recently installed netbook edition (10.04) on my MSI Wind u123. I mostly use this computer for watching movies over a wireless network on the T.V.. The problem is that when I enable the TV (LG LCD, 1080p) the favourites menu bar shifts left onto the tv (the laptop is on the right of the tv). However there is no task bar on the TV, it stays on the laptop screen. I don't mind this so much however when I open movies with VLC they don't display, I get sound but only a black image. If I disable the laptop screen and only use the T.V. it works fine.

Has anyone else come across this issue or have any ideas on how to fix it.

Hi,

You may try to fix this problem by going to System > Preferences > Display and change (if it is possible) the settings for the frequency and the resolution.

I got it this way when connecting a LCD TV to the output of a laptop running Element OS (Xfce, Ubuntu)
