OS for netbook

Asked by blxmckay on 2010-06-15

new to netbooks, ASUS EeePC 1005HAB, came with Win7 Starter (terrible); tried Remix 9.10 but not
what I'm comfortable with; any reason I can't use the full version of Ubuntu 10.04, possible small speed
hit but any big problems?

hello to you.....

Go for it.... no reason... in fact the OG and the remix are practically identical bar a few features to make things fit on a small screen. Install a recent version of ubuntu netbook remix and simply log out and switch between netbook and standard gnomev at the login screen. That way there both there..... two for th price of none :)

Also, maybe check out KNR Kubuntu netbook remix (no so good me thinks, but you try) or ubuntu moblin remix

oh yeah, with just normal gnome on the occasions occasionally you find a window thats too big to access button and the like.

Workaround = Hold Alt and left click anywhere on the window and move up/down/whaterver that way...

Can you help with this problem?
