can't upgrade from 9.10 to 10.04

On an Asus Eee 1005H with 9.10 Netbook Remix, I click "upgrade" in the update manager and I get to the "upgrade" button in the release form, then it downloads two files and then nothing happens... Why???

sudo apt-get install update-manager-core; sudo do-release-upgrade
