vga error ubuntu 16.04

Hi
I changed my dell lattitude E6400 laptop motherboard due to video card fault. since changing to a new mother board i have been having problems with displays on all the video player Totem vlc smplayer etc. then browsing takes to long to navigate from one page to another
Am on ubuntu 16.04

Did you have proprietary video drivers before the change?
What video hardware do you have now?

just used the additional driver to choose the proprietary video drivers before the change?

i have NVIDIA Hardware

Uninstall the driver then reinstall the driver

Thanks for the support i have uninstall and intall the Nvidia driver more than three times with no luck

Perhaps at this point will be instructional to see what X thinks.
cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log
and what the GPU manager has to relate:
cat /var/log/gpu-manager.log

where it is suppositional that the old driver is still installed.
