Ubuntu 16.10 freezes after laptop wakes up from sleep

I am using Ubuntu 16.10 with Cinnamon 3.2.8-1~yakkety0 and a System76 Oryx Pro laptop. After my laptop wakes up from sleep the desktop freezes.

This was fixed by using System76's modified nvidia driver.

sudo apt-add-repository -y ppa:system76-dev/stable
sudo apt update
sudo apt install system76-driver system76-driver-nvidia
