Menus disappear often from all apps in 14.04LTS

Asked by Jorge

I've been using 14.04 lts for many weeks but often, at any time the menus disappear from all apps running (browser, etc) and the desktop. Usually the apps continue to work but there is no way to do much anything. At the desktop I can only left click and create a new folder. I'm left with no option but to do a hard shut down.

Can you not press CTRL + ALT + T and bring up a terminal to logoff or reboot gracefully?
Hard reboots can and will physically damage your hardware.
Have you tried a non compoziting session like XFCE (sudo apt-get install xfce4) or LXDE (sudo apt-get install lxde)

You may find they are more stable

It sounds like you're experiencing an issue with menus disappearing from various applications in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. This could be caused by a variety of factors, including graphics driver issues, compatibility problems with the desktop environment, or conflicts with other software running on your system here https://topfollowapkapp.com/.

Can you help with this problem?
