What happened to my desktop Kubu 13.10

When I boot into Sys, I lose my desktop. What happened. There is a login button after the password box, but the choice doesn't matter. No desktop... See PNG

Use imageshack / tinypic etc. There never was an upload image option in the question section.

Raring is EOL on the 29th January 2014. I would reinstall with Precise or Saucy and upgrade to Trusty in April

Thanks for the recommendation on images. Duely noted. I am on Kubuntu Saucy now. Everytime I do an update in update manager, it actually switched from bold text to standard text on the KDE Plasma Workspace button under the password box. I don't know where this came from. I selected to login automatically. I just logged in, it just switched back to bold text on login. I am confused as to why?

I will try via on line, but a helper in the forum made me aware of WUBI issues that there were a lot of bugs and the problems I have relate to that.
