I have tried using dconf app for getting date by the side of day and time in the top panel, gnome session. I used to get it earlier Now I only get day and time. I still get it in ubuntu session. I have reported this bug in dconf too. But no solution yet. I am using 12.10 clean install. i386 32 bit. Any help will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

I have tried everything proposed in the answer, but nothing seems to be working. I even have the package indicator- datetime installed. However I do not see any Ubuntu logo on left side as instructed. All in all, The solution provided in the answer  did not work for me. Thank you for your precious time and efforts. Much appreciated.

Warm Regards.

Hi ,

can you give the results of

1) cat /etc/lsb-release && uname -r

2) echo $DESKTOP_SESSION

3) dpkg -l | grep -i applets

Also , give this command from the terminal

gsettings set com.canonical.indicator.datetime show-date true

and logout- login to see if fixed your problem.

Thanks

Thank you genius. I may sound very stupid. but before I could try to do as advised, I went to tweak tool and turned the show date in clock on. I sincerely apologize for wasting your time because of my ignorance of system tweaks. The problem stands solved now. You may please close the question. Thank you and regards.

Warm Regards.
