Left, Top Panel is missing in ubuntu-12.04.1-desktop-i386 after installation

Asked by dillip kumar nayak

Hi,
I successfully installed Ubuntu in VMWare Workstation-9 which sits on top of windows-7, 32 bit OS. But, when I tried to log in into Ubuntu, the Desktop was missing all Panel i.e. the Desktop screen was completely blank.
I have no clue what went wrong. So, I installed multiple times with different settings, but still no success.

I would like your favor to fix this issue. Please let me know for any further information, if needed.

Thanks in advance...

~Thanks,
   Dk

Get updated and install proprietary drivers if needed. May enable you to use the 3D option but the 2D will run on anything and runs faster than the 3D version
