Hi ,

Huge changes indeed (from 10.04) . Several things changed including the whole environment.

Downgrade Version option not exits in Ubuntu. If you want to revert back to 10.04 you must reinstall it.

My suggestion is to install another environment and try to work from there.

Similar to 10.04 (gnome 2) environment is the package : gnome-session-fallback

So if you want to give it a try , open a terminal with [Ctrl]+[Atl]+[t] keys combo, and run

sudo apt-get install gnome-session-fallback

Then reboot your PC and at Login Screen , on Login Box (there you write your username & password) click on little Ubuntu Icon and from the dropdown menu select "gnome-classic" or "gnome-classic(no effects)".

Thanks

Don't reinstall 10.04 because it won't be supported much longer.

The manual for the new desktop is here http://ubuntu-manual.org/ give it a try before you decide whether you like it or not

If not there is gnome classic as described above or you could go for Xubuntu, Kubuntu or Lubuntu.

Can you help with this problem?
