cannot keep Thunderbird or Skype locked into the Launcher

Each time I shut down Ubuntu, despite every effort I make to keep the icons for Skype and Thunderbird locked into the launcher, any time I have to shut down they immediately dissapear from the launcher and "hide" in the apps folder where I have to type out each name to once again set up a "new" account because they were ejected from the launcher during the shut down.

PLEASE HELP ME W/ THIS SIMPLE PROBLEM,

Drag them from dash to the Unity launcher. May help
