when I go into dash home on the unity toolbar the icons in applications etc appear with light writing and as the background is also light making them out is impossible Help

when I go into the dash home icon whatever I go into comes up with light coloured writing and since the background is also light in colour, reading the name of the icon is impossible making it possible to find out what each icon is only by trial and error.
