side panel in 12.04

Asked by clombard

The left page application side panel does not seem to hide or offer the option of making
it hide...like properties..Yes we like choices.
In 11.10 it automatically disappeared when an application was moved there...that was a nice
feature.
Is it available in 12.04..?
