autohide launcher wont reveal in 12.04 update

I update to 12.04 and things are going well but for the fact that the lancher won't reveal from the side panel when I move the cursor over the left, or top left hand corner. Tried reseting the settings but no joy. More a minor inconvenience than anything else.

If you press the SuperL button (aka 'Windows key') it should appear. Do you use Unity2D or Unity3D?

yes, that brings it up, but its not how its supposed to work, however, I've found that if you hover on the left edge of the screen and then continue to move left, it will finally appear.
