How do I disable Assistive Technology under the Unity desktop?

Asked by Duncan Lithgow

In order to run Gramps properly I need to disable Assistive Technology. This used to be easy but under Unity I can't find this setting.

https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=587020

So how do I disable ATK / Assistive Technology in Ubuntu 12.04?

I believe it's under the cog menu in the top right of the screen, or under system settings in dash

It's not there. There are settings for Universal Access but nowhere there is there an option to turn the whole thing off.

Since I never gor an answer to this issue I've created a bug report. If you also have this problem go to the bug and add yourself as being affected https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1035044
