top panel of my desktop screen is not gettin displayed

the top panel that is the task bar of my ubuntu is not getting displayed...how do i restore it???? my ubuntu version is 11.04...i require immediate help..thank you :-)..

Can you give the output of:

sudo lshw -C display; lsb_release -a; uname -a

Try CTRL+ALT+F1 or CTRL+ALT+F2 or CTRL+ALT+t

Copy the command and press CTRL+ALT+T
Paste the command there and hit ENTER
Copy the output and paste here as an update

You could try pressing the 'Ubuntu' Button at the login screen and re-setting to Unity 2D

how it all happened is I enabled Compiz, my panel just disappear and when I change some of settings, even the window border disappear..plz help
