i installed compiz software and did some settings,after that my icons and terminal are not opening

i installed compez software and did some settings,later i restarted my computer ,after restarting that my icons and taskbar are not opening and visible...how to get back my task bar and the icons

What version of Ubuntu is this? If 11.04 or later with Unity try the following:

Press <ctrl><alt>t to open a terminal and type the following:

unity --reset

If the panel and Launcher do not reappear try rebooting from the terminal with:

sudo reboot

What Compiz software did you install? If you alter some of the Compiz settings, Unity breaks. You might need to use the Compiz software you installed to get back to the orignial settings.
