Ubuntu 12.04 issues

Asked by ben gatfield

Hello I just upgraded from 11.10 today, and I have noticed there is a few features missing in the update. There is no "Show Desktop" when alt tabbing. This is weird. Also in system settings/appearance there is no slider to adjust the size of the icons on the unity bar.

I am running 32bit Ubuntu 12.04. Compiz is completely not working as well.

If anyone could offer a solution that would be so helpful :D

Thank you

Ben

Hi Ben
If by the unity bar you mean the vertical bar on lhs: you can adjust size of the icons with the slider that shown in Appearance the first option of the System Settings menu. Hope this helps

Traderjo,
I think you have completely missed the issues that Ben reports here. I too have this same problem. Ben knows where this option is and explains that in his post. The problem he reports states that the slider is missing from the Appearance options window.

Desktop has been removed from ALT+Tab
There is no option on the Appearance settings for icon size even though upgrade completed successfully

Can someone please help us?

Same issue here. On one upgraded laptop the icons size slider is in the Appearance panel, on another it isn't.

Additional info: I installed the compiz settings manager, went to the Unity plugin and changed the inon size there to 32. Nothing happened. Too much coincidence I guess to be unrelated.

Let me know if there is any config setting or file I need to examine. Thanks!
